| Take photos of the tie rods at each end at the lock nuts for reference. As well, count the number of visible threads on each tie rod up until the lock nut. Then measure the length from the rack body to the tie rod nut on each end and record. Remove the old rack, install the new one without hooking up the steering shaft. Now set each tie rod up to the appropriate thread counts you recorded by count and by photo, and set the body to tie rod measurements as recorded previously. Then reinstall the steering link to the rack. If you set everything up as it was before, your steering wheel should be centered properly, and your alignment should be dead nuts on as it was before.
